We’ll work with you on a deployment plan which includes the scope, responsibilities, resources, timescales, working practices, technical details etc. We normally start with a project kick-off conference call.
When we receive your go ahead, we’ll add the users to your account. If you already have a Google Apps subscription (e.g. direct with Google), we’ll request a transfer token.
Audit and evaluation
We shall need to complete an evaluation and audit of your existing infrastructure and user population and plan the implementation in detail. For example, we need to determine what smartphones are in use and how calendars and email signatures will be handled. Unless your organisation is large, this can normally be done as part of the planning process.
We use automated tools wherever possible for the migration; site visits will be planned as necessary according to the findings of the audit.
The current email system will be maintained during the implementation and only terminated when all users have been successfully migrated.
Training and change management
Training delivery will take place in phases according to the deployment plan. Change management is particularly important for larger organisations and where appropriate we’ll make recommendations.
There will be many other tasks to complete during the deployment e.g. browser policy, mobile devices, email archive, documents migration, email signatures etc. and these tasks will be co-ordinated with the user roll-out.
